The Computational Modeling department at the Polytechnic Institute (IPRJ) of the Rio de Janeiro State University welcomes applications from active research-oriented candidates for an early tenure (permanent) professorship position. Candidates are required to have a proven track record in international level research in most of the following areas:

computer vision
computer graphics
machine learning
optimization
computational geometry
inverse problems
differential and algebraic geometry (desired)

Candidates are also required to be willing and able to work in a heavily interdisciplinary environment.

The Polytechnic Institute / IPRJ is an active interdisciplinary research ecosystem where much data is readily available beyond traditional images, enabling machine learning and other algorithms to be developed and applied to many different fields.

WORKSHOP ON IMAGING NEW MODALITIES IN CONJUNCTION WITH

German Conference on Pattern Recognition, GCPR
September 03th, 2013, Saarbrücken, Germany

SCOPE

This workshop aims at the challenges related to processing the imagery data delivered by these new camera-like sensors. Many processing approaches developed in Computer Vision have been applied to this kind of sensor data. However, in many the algorthmic principles had to be adopted significantly (e.g. due to various different sensor characteristics) or completely new approaches have been developed.

This workshop will bring together researchers to exchange their ideas for and insight into processing challenges and novel processing paradigms associated with these sensor data types.
